The Scent Atlas — Perfume Dupes, Clone Fragrances & Alternatives
The fragrance discovery platform for perfume dupes and inspired by alternatives. Community rated for scent accuracy, longevity and value. Browse 2,200+ fragrances across 54+ brands. The platform's primary function is discovery, comparison and community rating, not retail: 5ml samples are sold directly, full-size bottles are reached through outbound retailer links.
Who We Are
The Scent Atlas was born from a simple moment of curiosity that turned into something much bigger — starting with a single fragrance, Khamrah by Lattafa, and the question of what it was inspired by and what else smelled like it. That gap in clear, reliable information is what led to The Scent Atlas: the vision is to build the world's largest fragrance discovery database, an IMDb for fragrances, where people can explore scents through notes, performance, inspiration, occasion, category and identity, all within one structured and community driven platform.
How The Atlas Connects
No page on The Scent Atlas is a dead end. A note links to every fragrance that carries it. A fragrance links to the designer fragrance it is inspired by. That inspiration links to every alternative to it in the catalogue. A brand links to its full catalogue and to its real, individually researched ownership relationships with other brands. Atlas Match links every fragrance to three specific others, by shared notes, by shared brand, and by shared designer inspiration. A visitor can start from a fragrance they already own, a designer scent they want a cheaper alternative to, a note they like, an occasion, a budget, a brand, or a question about who actually owns a fragrance house, and follow real links from any of those starting points to the others.

Every Fragrance Page
Every fragrance page on The Scent Atlas, at thescentatlas.com/fragrance/{brand-slug}-{fragrance-slug}, follows the same structure:
- Brand name, fragrance name, gender and concentration (EDP, EDT or Extrait)
- Price in GBP, with a live GBP/USD currency toggle
- A full editorial description structured into named sections: product overview, scent profile, technical structure and development, performance, wear scenarios, scent family positioning, inspired-by and style comparisons, flankers and variations, and market and community reception
- Full scent profile: top notes, heart notes and base notes, each one a clickable link to that note's own index page
- Main accords shown with images, each a clickable link to that accord's own index page
- Clickable vibes, occasions, performance tags and style lane, each linking to the matching entity index page
- Atlas Eye, an enlarged bottle image popup, on pages where it is enabled
- Atlas Insight, a five-section AI-assisted buying verdict: Why It Stands Out, Who Should Buy It, Who Should Skip It, Compared With the Original, and Best Alternative If This Isn't For You
- Atlas Match, a deterministic recommendation engine computed directly from real catalogue data, not AI-generated: it surfaces three specific next fragrances to try, one sharing the most overlapping notes, one from the same brand, and one sharing the same designer inspiration, so a visitor can move to a genuinely related fragrance rather than a generic "customers also viewed" suggestion
- Up to three embedded third-party video reviews and demonstrations from established fragrance content creators on YouTube, linked directly so a visitor can see and hear a real-world impression before buying
- Up to ten dedicated FAQ questions specific to that fragrance
- Both human-written and AI-generated reviews, and a form to submit your own review
What The Ratings Mean
- Scent accuracy: how closely a dupe or alternative resembles the designer fragrance it is inspired by
- Longevity: how long the fragrance lasts on skin, as reported by the community
- Projection: how strongly the fragrance can be smelled by people around the wearer
- Value: how good the fragrance is considered to be for its price
- Overall: the community's combined opinion across all of the above

What Makes The Scent Atlas Different
- Every fragrance carries five separate community ratings, scent accuracy, longevity, projection, value and overall, rather than a single star score, so a strong performer and a strong dupe can be told apart.
- Atlas Match recommends what to try next for every fragrance, based on three distinct signals: shared notes, same brand, or the same designer inspiration ("same DNA style") — not a generic "customers also viewed" list.
- Brand relationships (parent house, sub-brand, or commonly confused with another house) are individually researched and sourced, not assumed. False ownership claims are explicitly identified and corrected, see Who Owns Who.
- Every catalogued dupe states which designer fragrance it is inspired by, cross-checked against multiple sources rather than taken from a single retailer listing.
- 5ml samples ship at a flat price with free UK delivery and no minimum spend, letting a fragrance be tested before committing to a full bottle.
- The full accord, note, brand, occasion, vibe, performance and style-lane index is browsable A to Z, with live counts computed across the entire catalogue on every page load, not a static list.
